Usually before Christmas I stop the toy donations because people just dump their toyboxes in to blackbags and dump it all on us no matter what state it is in. Its only September and we have already had dirty toys and books, broken toys, board games with parts missing, dirty children's fancy dress. We do not accept dirty, stained, damaged or incomplete items. I have asked the volunteers to check the bags before you donate and if its in a state or covered in dog hair or dirty childrens books ect they will refuse the donations unfortunately. It costs us to dispose of and takes up too much of our time to deal with when staff are trying to help Mothers. If its stained, damaged, or incomplete- take it to the tip.
