Can I remind everyone if you want items delivered or collected there is a booking charge payable in advance. Delivering and collecting takes volunteers away from the shops making them short staffed impacting on fundraising. I work 20 hours a day minimum myself for free. This is a standard charge and is still cheaper than a man with a van or the council to collect. We also pay business and business car insurance which need to be covered. Plus additional manual handling courses we need to pay for. OR ALTERNATIVELY drop the items to any of the shops. Going forward I think if its furniture removal you are needing we will have to review the charges for this because we are under charging for this service and its hard work. We don't raise enough from the furniture items donated to warrant collectiong them for free sorry. Believe me other "registered charities" wouldn't take half the furniture ect when they turn up because they are fussy and rude. Yesterday I sold two moses baskets with stands £1 each and dining room table £8 . We don't make enough from the collection to warrant collecting for free sorry and there are two separate business insurances to pay and manual handling costs involved.
