Frequently asked questions:- ARE YOU A CHARITY? No, not yet. We are a registeted baby bank, baby and child foodbank, and foodbank fundraising shop authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and multiple Councils. We are classed as a not for profit business as no one is paid a wage and all the profit after the running costs are paid go into buying foodbanks and nappies to help people. WHY ARE THESE OTHER REGISTERED CHARITIES SO HORRIBLE TO YOU!? These other charities have been arguing and fighting each other for decades before we came along in 2020 over the monopoly of all the financial, food and other donations . There is years of documented evidence of this . They targeted me straight away because our choosen benefactors of Mothers and babies were more relevant and in need than their currently "theme of charity", and people were fed up of them all fighting . So they dragged us in to their argument which I feel I have a right to defend us and hold a mirror up at them . Two of theses charities have been shut down by the regulators and two are under investigation by the Charity Commission due to their own behaviours within their organisations . These charities are behind the malicious website and rumours and posts abouts us and regularly gang up on us. Same people all the time. IS JAYNE YOUR LEGAL REAL NAME? Yes, Jayne is my name and I have proved this multiple times with documentation. DO YOU STEAL THE CASH AND ARE YOU A MONEY LAUNDER? No we only accept card and contactless payments so every thing is traceable and I am not doing a very good job if I was a money launder as I have had to pay in some of my savings into baby bank to keep it going after we had multiple staff thefts . That's why we choose to go card payment only. Because it protects all our customers and staff and us. WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO ? In order, Rent payments, bills and anything left which would be classed as not for profit is spent on nappies and foodbanks and relevant items . All receipts are kept. Trading Standards from multiple Councils are happy with this. The money generated is spread across the whole baby bank not localised to each shop. For example if we make £5000 this month in Caerphilly shop that £5000 would be pooled into the whole of the baby banks expenses not just Caerphilly shop. Similarly if Pontypool makes £500 this month that goes in to the same pot of revenue . WHY ARE YOU SO EXPENSIVE? People don't need thing a me bobs! Families need food, nappies, formula and warmth. We sell the thingy a me bobs at correct valued and current charity shops prices to fundraising for the food, nappies, formula. Warm blankets that are donated or bought ect. We are a FOODBANK FUNDRAISING SHOP. We have been on 50% off for 2 years and multiple other deals like 75% off ect so we ARE actually cheaper than charity shops and tip shops depending on what current offers we have . Last week a volunteer mum sold a vintage tweety pie teddy for £30. That's 1 bag of shopping to help a family or 6 or 7 packs of nappies to help 7 families in need. Anyone can sell stuff at car boot prices but where will that get you? Not far today? That Mother has developed transferable skills to sell a vintage teddy for that price. Transferable skills and confidence gained volunteering for us that can be used to further her career and confidence somewhere down the line. Anyone can sell stuff at car boot prices to sell quality vintage, collectable antiques takes skill. Skills volunteers are developing. WHY DON'T YOU TAKE A WAGE? Because I'm ill and can't commit to working contracted hours and can't predict when I'm going to have a period of ill health and the baby bank would have to pay me sick pay. Volunteering is about helping not taking. Being a paid worker means you can't be a trustee and I would rather be a trustee and make sure our standards are followed and best practices and integrity is maintained that take a 30-60k salary off a good cause. Also I am not in this for the money I am in it for the recycling. I love recycling. WHY ARE YOUR SHOPS SO FULL! Because the public believe in us. The public believe we have integrity and we are helping genuine people in need. We have proved that charity can be provided on pennies and volunteering not grab grab grabbing and fighting over the monopoly like the other registered charities are doing Thank you for your support and time.
