Unfortunately (well me and Dan knew it was coming that's why I stopped moving stuff into p3 and got the landlord to take it DC.) Health and safety has shut down 5 crane street, 6 and 4 commercial street and the flats above by the sounds and are now ENFORCING REPAIRS. I have not had official confirmation that the stock has been condemed yet. Landlord 2 said the stock has not been condemned as of yet and we can still remove stock. Can't say I am surprised with the state they have let the buildings get into and that's why we have been in there packing it up and taking my time to make sure it's all packed tidy. Only the front room to pack up 👍♻️ Let it be a lesson to landlords to look after tenants and the buildings they rent. The council could still come in and compulsory purchase the buildings off the landlords for as little as £1. The heritage team from the council have been viewing them. The council have enforced that no tenants can rent them until the council say so and they have been brought up to a satisfactory standard. The council have taken samples yesterday of the mould from both shops. I'm shocked that the landlords are shocked with yesterday's council visit. They have had warnings for at least 2 years to bring them up to code. ♻️ Waiting on official confirmation that we can take the stock. Myself and volunteers had to go to a meeting with council last week about compensation to loss of stock and equipment, damage to our health caused by the lack of repairs and compensation to loss of earnings ect. Its only prolonged exposure to the mould but any public concerns contact the council is my advice.
